UAE DMCC awards AI Blockchain EatCloud start-up Impact scale up program winner prize

    UAE’s DMCC, freezone has awarded blockchain AI Columbian startup EatCloud with the Impact scale program award. EatCloud is one of three startups to win cash prizes of $49,000 for 'DMCC Impact Scale-Up Program Powered by C3'. The six-month program supports the growth of impact-driven businesses that align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and it represents a part of DMCC's ESG strategy. As the UAE prepares to host COP28 and lead the conversation that drives the global sustainability agenda, the program comes to an end. Egypt founded, WEB3.0 messaging and Blockchain communications platform, Pravica, with offices in Egypt and the UAE is the only MENA-based startup chosen among the top 20 finalists for Deutsche Telecom’s T-Labs and T-Mobile’s T-Challenge 2023.   UAE startup Educatly, a platform connecting students to global higher education opportunities based out of in5 Tech, a business incubator by TECOM Group PJSC, is implementing a blockchain solution for student data verification, which is essential for them to provide legitimate students records to relevant universities. As per the announcement, the Blockchain data verification solution is also crucial for foreign students who want to further their education overseas because it might be challenging to obtain original copies of their degrees elsewhere. UAE Mubadala Capital leads $70 million investment in Web3 Fintech startup Ramp

  UAE based Mubadala Capital led a Series B funding round of $70 million for Ramp Network, whose claim their mission is to make Web3 a reality by enabling mainstream adoption of   products and services offered by pioneering blockchain ventures. Ramp Network does this by offering a payment infrastructure that connects crypto and traditional finance. “Ramp has established a clear lead in the crypto gaming space by delivering a superior user experience, leading conversion rates and strong regulatory compliance,” said Frederic Lardieg at Mubadala Capital Ventures. Among the investors was Korelya Capital,   Balderton Capital which led its $53 million Series A, and new investor Cogito Capital. The firm has now raised over $120 million in the past year. It offers a payment product that lets users buy cryptocurrencies inside any application or website, essentially the Web3 answer to services like PayPal (PYPL) or Stripe.     UAE based start-up Urbie, is purifying indoor air using blockchain, bio-tech, and crypto. Inspired by NASA, Urbie leverages plant evolution and technology to absorb and neutralize common pollutants found in enclosed areas. The start-up utilizes biological air purifiers and green wall purifiers with self-watering systems. These are connected to mobile apps so users can not only monitor their indoor air quality but also keep track using blockchain. Users are able to earn green crypto coins based on the number of hours of purification. These coins can be used to plant trees, build water wells in an effort to curb the negative impact of climate change.
