  In collaboration with both the UAE Abu Dhabi department of Culture and Tourism, Al Dar, Miral, twofour54, and Ethara, Yas Island has launches its virtual platform with digital avatars as visitors. The virtual platform is set to showcase Abu Dhabi as a leading tourism destination. The virtual Yas Island experience was developed by Super League and breaks through on Roblox, accessible at Yas Island Tycoon - Roblox. Users’ digital avatars take a journey through key Abu Dhabi landmarks on Yas Island and beyond, including SeaWorld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, Yas Marina Circuit, Etihad Park, Aldar Square, twofour54’s Yas Creative Hub, and an Experience Abu Dhabi dedicated area featuring Louvre Abu Dhabi, Mamsha Al Saadiyat, Sir Bani Yas Island, Al Ain Oasis and Al Jahili Fort. Blockchain technology enabled 95% of UAE court cases to be conducted remotely

    The UAE Ministry of Justice announced in its 2023 digitization report that utilizing blockchain technologies and video communications, 95% of court cases were conducted remotely. In addition all marriage services were completed digitally.  The ministry introduced a digital system that can issue powers of attorney in less than 10 minutes without any human involvement.  As per the news, this achievement aligns with the UAE’s digital agenda, reflects the ministry’s commitment to its digital transformation journey, and aligns with the UAE's 2025 Digital Government Strategy. The ministry developed a comprehensive and innovative digital system, which allowed the remote completion of marriage services in the first quarter of this year, facilitating users’ dealings and reducing paperwork. UAE government to launch first Blockchain enabled national system for carbon credits

    UAE based Venom Blockchain has signed an MOU ( Memorandum of Understanding) with the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and environment to launch the first blockchain enabled national system for carbon credits. The collaboration aims to reduce emissions and enhance sustainable agriculture, environmental health, and biodiversity in the UAE. This will be achieved by providing the highest levels of transparency, reliability, efficiency, and security in managing the issuance, transfer, calculation, and accurate tracking of carbon credits, as well as facilitating the digitisation process. The MoU was signed by Mohammed Said Al Nuaimi, Acting Under-Secretary of MoCCAE, Taryam Matar Taryam, CEO of Industrial Innovation Group, and Peter Knez, Chair of the Foundation Council at Venom Foundation, at the Ministry's office in Dubai. Iota IOT Blockchain platform now part of UAE’s government digital ambitions

    After a meeting between UAE’s UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Thani AlZeyoudi and the Founder of Iota, Dominik Schiener, the IoTa Blockchain platform has now been ushered into the UAE’s digital ecosystem. In a tweet on May 25 th 2023, Minister Al Zeyoudi states, “Great to meet Dominic Schiener, Co-Founder and Chairman of IOTA and explore ways to introduce their open source blockchain solution to the UAE’s digital ecosystem. With its ability to power a wide range of sectors, it could play a vital role in our advanced technology ambitions.” This was followed by a tweet by Schiener who replied, “Thank you so much for meeting us Your Excellency Dr. Thani. It's really inspiring for us to speak with such welcoming and sophisticated leaders like you in the UAE. UAE Government launches Digital assets registry as one of 6 digital transformation projects

  The UAE Higher Committee for Government Digital Transformation, approved 6 transformational projects to enhance the UAE Government's digital transformation, one of them being the Digital Assets Registry. The Digital Assets Registry focuses on inventorying the digital assets of the UAE government, their validity, and the entities that own them, and measuring the extent of their use. This is the first registry launched by the federal government for tangible and intangible digital assets. The meeting which was chaired by Her Excellency Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, the Minister of State for Government Development and the Future, also announced other projects such as Government Technology Package, Government Software Platform, and Digital Project Standards Guide. Her Excellency indicated that the new projects enhance the UAE's readiness to play a pivotal role in promising future sectors, ensuring a safe digital transformation in line with future aspirations and directions.

Cementing UAE as a digital economy both organically and internationally

  UAE is building its digital economy organically by educating its government employees as well as acquiring it internationally by attracting international tech players and their talents. Not only has the country come out with a new initiative to attract 300 global tech firms, but it is also working with Chainalysis to train its government employees on all things blockchain and crypto (virtual assets).   In recent news announced, Minister of State for foreign trade, Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, launched the “NextGenFDI” that aims to attract 300 global tech firms as well as software developers, data scientists, and coders. The start of the initiative is through partnerships already inked out with seven major firms and business districts that include Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) and Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC),  Dubai South, DMCC,  Dubai Internet City, Emirates NBD and digital bank WIO.
